Rollz Air has been awarded a German Innovation Award 2026 in the category Excellence in Business to Consumer, Medical & Health. A special recognition of the way Rollz Air combines lightweight mobility with stability, comfort and everyday ease of use.
At Rollz, we believe mobility is about more than getting from A to B. It is about freedom. About staying independent. About going out with confidence, without a mobility aid feeling heavy, complicated or limiting.
With that idea in mind, we developed Rollz Air: a modern, lightweight rollator walker for people looking for agility and ease of use, without compromising on stability and comfort. The German Innovation Award 2026 recognises exactly that balance.
Lightweight, yet stable in use
Many lightweight rollators require a compromise. They are easy to lift, but do not always feel stable. Or they are compact, but less comfortable in everyday use. With Rollz Air, we wanted to do things differently.
Rollz Air is light and compact, making it easy to handle, lift and take along. At the same time, it feels solid and reliable while walking. The rollator walker is designed for everyday use, indoors and outdoors, in small spaces and on the go.
An important part of the design is the patented dual-bag system. By placing the bags around the centre of gravity, the rollator remains better balanced. This provides easy access to personal belongings and creates a more stable feel while walking. The soft tyres and ergonomic handles also contribute to comfort and reduced strain.
Recognition for design, engineering and ease of use
Since 2017, the German Innovation Award has been presented annually by the German Design Council, known in Germany as the Rat für Formgebung. The award honours innovations that create real progress, from smart everyday solutions to groundbreaking technologies.
The jury does not look at technological innovation alone. User focus, social impact and the overall quality of the solution also play an important role. That is exactly why this recognition is so valuable for Rollz Air. The award confirms that innovation in mobility is not only about technology, but above all about what that technology makes possible in everyday life.
In 2026, the independent jury assessed a total of 462 entries from 23 countries. The award ceremony took place on 12 May 2026 in Berlin.
What the jury says about Rollz Air
The jury highlighted the combination of lightness, stability and comfort. In the jury statement, they wrote:
“Rollz Air impressively demonstrates that lightness and stability do not have to be mutually exclusive. The balanced handling created by placing the bags at the centre of gravity, as well as the comfort added by soft tyres and ergonomic handles that reduce strain, enable confident, independent and stylish mobility that enriches everyday life and opens up new freedoms.”
